July 16th
 
  • Arrival of the participants in the city of Holguin and Gibara.  
 
July 17th
 
Morning session
 
  • 09:00-09:30 am Welcome cocktail, accreditation and delivery of information about the event in hotels in the city of Gibara, Holguin province.
 
  • 09:30-09:40 am Opening of the Biodiversity and Tourism Event Biotur 2023.
 
  • 09:40-09:55 am Presentation of the attractions of Nature of northeastern Cuba. Promotional Video.
 
  • 10:00-10:45 am Conference, Potentialities for birdwatching in eastern Cuba. Debra Sue Baker (Professor of Ecology, University of Kansas, USA).
 
  • 10:50- 11: 15 am Presentation on the tourist potentialities of the cave systems in the north of Holguin.
  • Presented by Osmani Feria García president of the Provincial Speleological Committee and Jose Corella Varona member of the board of directors of the Speleological Society of Cuba.  
 
  • 11:30 - 1:00 pm Business Roundtable
 
- Exchange among the participants of the event
 
- Presentation of books: Christopher Columbus's Derrotero in the northern coast of Holguin and Gibarean Traditional Cuisine.
 
- Presentation of the attributes by area administrators
 
- Tasting of typical dishes of Gibara.
 
- Biotur 2023 Award Ceremony.
 
  • 1:00 - 1.15 pm organization of the groups and departure of the tours
 
Afternoon session
 
Group No. 1 Adventure through Rural Holguin: Tour through the historical center of the city of Gibara National Monument. Visit to Los Panaderos cave, emblematic site of the cave systems of the north of Holguin. Transfer and lodging at Villa Masnatura Mirador de Mayabe in the outskirts of the city of Holguin, free time, dinner and night activities.
 
July 18th
 
Group No. 1 Holguin Rural Adventure: 8:00 am Departure from Villa Masnatura Mirador de Mayabe to the town of Alcalá, to enter the rural Holguinean countryside and taste a piña colada with varieties grown on a nearby farm. At Finca Alcalá, horseback riding, planting of a tree, interpretation of the farm's agricultural activities and enjoyment of a Creole lunch. Transfer to the Club Amigo Atlántico Guardalavaca hotel, free time, dinner, evening activities and lodging.
 
Day July 19
 
Group No. 1 Holguinean Rural Adventure: 7:30 am Departure from the hotel to visit the agro-ecological farm La Hacienda, a rural community project where you can experience how the Cuban peasant lives maintaining their welfare and quality of life from the feeding of their own crops based on totally healthy organic fertilizers, all in a very natural environment. Tasting of tropical fruits and the traditional coffee, transfer to the Salto del Guayabo, considered the leading product of the province of Holguin, welcome coffee, contemplating from a viewpoint the natural waterfalls with a fall of 85 and 127 meters respectively at an elevation of 560 meters above sea level. You will be able to take a trail that ends in a natural pool very cozy for its characteristics and landscape. In the afternoon, transfer to the Hotel Club Amigo Atlántico Guardalavaca, free time, dinner, night activities and lodging.
 
 July 20th
 
Group No. 1 Holguinean Rural Adventure: 8:30 am Departure from the hotel to Roca Azul Biopark, information meeting and welcome cocktail, horseback ride along the emblematic Loma del Templo trail with arrival at the viewpoint to enjoy extraordinary views of Bahía Naranjo, picnic lunch at La Ensenada Restaurant. Transfer to the hotel, free time, dinner, night activities.
 
Day July 21
 
Group No. 1 Holguinean Rural Adventure: 8:30 am Visit and tour of the Taino village, village nestled in Chorro de Maíta where you can appreciate the way of life of our first settlers, to continue with a Cuban countryside in the agroecological farm El Frutal, combining culture, traditions, where flora and fauna make the visitor achieve a better harmony in their system and quality of life. Interchange of all the participants on the experiences lived in the event. Return to Holguín.
