From September 29 to October 5, 2025, the 10th Ibero-American Meeting of Rural Tourism and Agrotourism will take place in Cuba. It is an event organized by the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, with the ECOTUR Travel Agency as the receptive agency and the participation of the Agrarian University of Havana.
It will be based in the Western Region of Cuba, since its program of activities includes visits and meetings in Havana, Mayabeque, Artemisa and Pinar del Río. The themes are very interesting, and range from Agrotourism, Sustainable Local Tourism, Community Tourism and Rural Accommodations, to other very current ones such as Smart Farms, Entrepreneurial Experiences, Governance and Astrotourism.
The program includes visits to the Botanical Garden, Finca Vista Hermosa and Finca Guanabito in Havana. In Mayabeque, the Agrarian University, the Seed Biofactory, the Guayabal University Farm and the Patron and El Bacura Estates will be visited. In Artemisa, the Bugambilia and Tunkasuk Farms have been chosen, as well as the Las Terrazas and Soroa Complex, and in Pinar del Río, several farms and the San Vicente Ranch will be visited.
The Ibero-American Rural Tourism Meetings are spaces for information and exchange of experiences, advances, research and good practices, organized by the Ibero-American Institute of Rural Tourism (IBEROATUR). They are spaces to strengthen the ties of cooperation between the countries that attend and contribute to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations.
